The Industrial Accelerator Act (IAA): Keeping Europe Competitive in the Global Industrial Race
The Industrial Accelerator Act (IAA): Keeping Europe Competitive in the Global Industrial Race
About the Event
Developed against a backdrop of intensifying global competition, geopolitical uncertainty, and high energy prices, the Industrial Accelerator Act is of high strategic importance. It aims at expanding industrial capacity, strengthening competitiveness, and supporting decarbonisation in strategically important sectors.
Through a range of measures, it seeks to boost demand for low-carbon industrial products made in Europe, address supply-chain vulnerabilities in key sectors and technologies, and overcome permitting and investment barriers to industrial decarbonisation.
Bringing together Members of the European Parliament, European Commission officials, industry associations, businesses, NGOs, civil society organisations, and relevant experts, the discussion will foster an exchange of views across institutions and sectors on the contribution of the Industrial Accelerator Act to Europe's industrial competitiveness and sustainability, and the key challenges and opportunities associated with its implementation.
