About the Event

The exhibition offers a glimpse into the lives of IRC staff and the people they serve in Watchlist countries, highlighting what is at stake in ongoing policy debates about the future of humanitarian aid. Speakers will include Marit Maij MEP, representatives from Watchlist countries, and civil society.

The IRC's Emergency Watchlist highlights the 20 countries most at risk of new or worsening humanitarian crises in the year ahead. As you move through the exhibition you will see why Europe's continued engagement in crisis contexts matters more than ever. At a time when humanitarian needs are soaring and global support is shrinking, EU leadership can help protect people from the worst impacts of this new era.

This event takes place at a timely moment, as the European Commission prepares its forthcoming Communication on Humanitarian Aid, and as discussions continue to unfold in the European Parliament and among Member States on the future of the Global Europe instrument under the 2028–2034 MFF.
