Valdis DOMBROVSKIS
Commissioner for Economy and Productivity; Implementation and Simplification
European Commission
Valdis Dombrovskis is European Commissioner for Economy and Productivity; Implementation and Simplification. He oversees the EU's economic and financial policies, focusing on strengthening the Single Market and ensuring effective implementation of EU legislation.
Previously, he served as Executive Vice-President for An Economy that Works for People and was Prime Minister of Latvia from 2009 to 2014.
Wim Mijs is CEO of the European Banking Federation, representing Europe's banking sector at EU level. He leads advocacy efforts on banking regulation, digital transformation, and sustainable finance.
Before joining the EBF, he held senior positions in the Dutch banking sector and has extensive experience in financial services policy and regulation.
Slawomir Krupa is CEO of Société Générale and President of the European Banking Federation. He leads one of Europe's largest banking groups and represents the interests of the European banking industry.
He has extensive experience in investment banking and corporate finance, having held various leadership positions within Société Générale before becoming CEO.
Elie Farah is Managing Partner and Head of Financial Services Practice in Europe at Oliver Wyman, advising major financial institutions on strategy, operations, and regulatory challenges across the European banking sector.
Andrea Beltramello heads the Savings and Investments Union Coordination unit at the European Commission, working on policies to mobilize private capital for investment and strengthen the EU's Capital Markets Union.
Patrick Amis is Director General for Specialised Institutions and Less Significant Institutions at the European Central Bank, overseeing banking supervision for specialized and smaller banks across the eurozone.
Almorò Rubin de Cervin graduated in economics from Bocconi University in Milan. He joined the European Commission in 2000 and has worked in DG Enterprise and DG Competition, particularly in State aid control.
Since 2010, he has been working on financial services policies, including policy coordination, international issues and macro prudential policies. Since 2020, he is Head of Unit for Bank regulation and supervision in DG FISMA.
José Manuel Campa is Chairperson of the European Banking Authority, leading the EU's banking regulatory and supervisory framework to ensure financial stability and consumer protection across the Single Market.
He previously served as Spain's Minister of Economy and Finance and has held academic positions at leading business schools including IESE and Columbia.
Andreas Dombret represents N26, bringing extensive regulatory and banking experience. He formerly served on the Executive Board of Deutsche Bundesbank, responsible for banking supervision, financial stability, and international cooperation.
His expertise spans traditional and digital banking, making him a key advisor in the digital transformation of financial services.
Regina Doherty is a Member of the European Parliament representing Ireland. She serves on committees related to economic and monetary affairs, bringing her extensive political experience to EU financial policy debates.
Previously, she held several ministerial positions in the Irish government, including Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection.
Alexandra Maniati is Senior Director of Innovation and Cybersecurity at the European Banking Federation, leading policy development on digital innovation, cyber resilience, and emerging technologies in European banking.
Nadia Calviño is President of the European Investment Bank, the EU's lending institution supporting investment projects across Europe. She leads the EIB's efforts to finance sustainable development and economic growth.
Previously, she served as Spain's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Digital Transformation, and held senior positions at the European Commission.
Bruna Szego serves as Chair of the Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA), developing the agency's operations and implementing critical goals including direct supervision, coordinating FIUs, and setting EU-wide standards.
She began her career at the Bank of Italy in 1990, advancing through roles of increasing responsibility. Prior to leading AMLA, she headed the AML Supervision and Regulation (SNA), established in June 2022.
Previously, she headed the Regulations and Macroprudential Analysis Directorate within the Directorate General for Financial Supervision and Regulation.
José Antonio Álvarez is the vice-chair of the board of directors of Grupo Santander. He is also Board Member of PagoNxt and AON plc. He was Group CEO until 2022 and vice Chair of Banco Santander (Brasil) until 2024.
Prior, he directed Group's Finance Division from 2002 to 2004 and acted as Group CFO until 2015. He was chairman of the European Banking Federation Banking Supervision Committee from 2009 to 2012.
He holds a bachelor's degree in Economics and Business from the University of Santiago de Compostela, and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
Edvardas Šileris is Head of the European Cybercrime Centre (EC3) since 2020. Under his leadership, the Centre prevents and supports investigations involving cyber-dependent crimes like ransomware and cyber-enabled crimes like online frauds.
His Centre provides advanced support on digital forensics, decryption and cyber threat intelligence. EC3 acts as a law enforcement liaison with industry and academia.
Before becoming Head of EC3, Edvardas was Deputy Police Commissioner General of the Lithuanian Police, with 22 years dedicated to crime investigation.
Michael Anseeuw is CEO of BNP Paribas Fortis and member of the Executive Committee of BNP Paribas since 2023. He has been working in banking since 2001, holding different positions in headquarters and international business divisions.
From late 2014 until the end of 2022, he headed the retail banking activities of BNP Paribas Fortis. Prior to joining the bank, he worked as a management consultant and co-founded an internet start-up.
He holds a degree of Civil Engineering option Physics from the University of Ghent.

Kerstin Jorna is a German national and a civil servant at the European Commission where she has held various positions, including Head of Cabinet of several Commissioners and different Director posts.
She is the Director-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs. Before, she was Deputy Director-General for Economic and Financial Affairs.
She has held positions on the Board of the European Investment Bank, the European Investment Fund and the European Innovation Council Fund.
Sébastien de Brouwer is Deputy CEO of the European Banking Federation, supporting the strategic direction and operational management of the organization representing European banks.
He brings extensive expertise in EU financial regulation, banking policy, and advocacy, working closely with European institutions to shape the regulatory framework for the banking sector.
Maria Abascal is Director General of the Asociación Española de Banca (AEB), representing the Spanish banking sector and coordinating advocacy and policy positions at national and European level.
She leads the association's engagement with regulators, policymakers, and stakeholders to promote a competitive and sustainable banking industry in Spain.
