#BeersPoliticsEU: "Artificial Intelligence or Artificially Intelligent: Will the Brussels Bubble burst under the threat of AI?"

In recent years, we see a proliferation of AI chatbots and generative AI tools that have the potential to reshape our work, including European public affairs. While it's true that AI tools can be used to streamline tasks — from policy analysis to stakeholder engagement — debates rage over its limits. Some argue that human judgment, ethical nuances, and institutional knowledge remain irreplaceable, others voice their concerns about misinformation, copyright, and accountability.

In this edition of #BeersPoliticsEU, we will explore how AI is transforming EU public affairs, where it adds value, and where caution is warranted.

  • How has AI changed the European public affairs landscape?
  • What can AI tools actually do for public affairs?
  • Is it just a hype and are people ready?

This special session is co-organised with Tom Moylan (Moylan Communications), who is also sponsoring the venue.

With us in the panel:

  • Annica Ryng, Public Affairs and Communication Director, Society of Audiovisual Authors
  • Aaron Mcloughlin, Partner, Fleishman Hillard
  • Anna Koj, Managing Director, Mavence
  • Nicholas Elles, Policy Prism
  • Rowan Emslie, CCO, Centre for Future Generations (CFG)
