Submit Your Opinion Piece to EXPERT EUROPE
EXPERT EUROPE welcomes expert perspectives from current and former European institution members, including Accredited Parliamentary Assistants (APAs), Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), and EU officials. We publish insightful commentary on European affairs, policy, and institutional developments.
What We're Looking For
We seek timely, well-argued opinion pieces that offer fresh perspectives on European policy, governance, and institutional affairs. Your article should address current developments in European affairs and provide thoughtful analysis backed by expertise or direct experience.
All submissions must focus on European affairs and offer substantive analysis grounded in policy expertise or institutional experience.
Submission Requirements
Word Count: Articles should be between 600 and 1,200 words. We favour concise, well-structured pieces that make a clear argument.
Format: Submit your article as a Microsoft Word document (.docx) or PDF. Plain text pasted into the email body is also acceptable.
Title: Provide a clear, engaging title that reflects the central argument of your piece. We reserve the right to edit titles for clarity and impact.
Author Details: Include your full name(s) and current or former institutional affiliation (e.g., "APA to MEP [Name]", "Policy Adviser, European Commission", "EPP Group", "S&D Group").
Biography: Provide a brief author biography (maximum two lines) highlighting relevant expertise and institutional experience.
Professional Photograph: A high-resolution headshot (optional but recommended) in JPEG or PNG format.
Contact Information: Include your email address and telephone number for verification purposes.
Supporting Materials: If applicable, include relevant hyperlinks, references, or supporting documentation.
Editorial Standards and Review Process
Editorial Review: We review all submissions for quality, relevance, and timeliness. EXPERT EUROPE reserves the right to decline any submission that does not meet our editorial standards or does not align with our focus on European affairs. We do not provide reasons for declined submissions.
Editing: Accepted articles may be edited for clarity, length, style, and factual accuracy. We will consult with authors on substantial changes.
Response Time: We endeavour to respond to submissions within 5 business days.

By submitting your opinion piece to EXPERT EUROPE, you confirm that:
- You are the original author of the submitted work and hold full rights to its publication;
 - The content is factually accurate to the best of your knowledge;
 - You grant EXPERT EUROPE non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide rights to publish, reproduce, and distribute the article across our digital and print platforms;
 - You retain full copyright ownership of your work and may republish it elsewhere after publication on EXPERT EUROPE;
 - You remain legally responsible for the content, views, and statements expressed in your article;
 - You will disclose any potential conflicts of interest or financial interests related to the subject matter.
 
EXPERT EUROPE reserves the right to remove published content if it is found to contain factual inaccuracies, breaches legal or ethical standards, or violates our editorial policies.
Writing Guidelines
Clarity and Focus: Make a single, well-defined argument supported by evidence and analysis. Avoid meandering narratives or multiple disconnected points.
Strong Opening: Begin with a compelling lede that clearly states your thesis and captures reader interest.
Evidence-Based: Support assertions with credible sources, data, or institutional experience. Avoid speculation or unsubstantiated claims.
Professional Tone: Maintain a respectful, authoritative tone appropriate for policy discourse. Personal attacks, inflammatory language, or unsubstantiated accusations will not be accepted.
We encourage diverse viewpoints and constructive debate. Opinion pieces do not necessarily reflect the views of EXPERT EUROPE or its editorial team.
