About the Event

This event will expose findings and project examples from a new research report "1.1 billion EUR, 63 projects, six countries, one pattern: how EU funds violate fundamental rights". The research reveals systematic patterns of rights violations across European Union funding programs, affecting vulnerable communities in multiple member states.

The event will feature interventions from representatives of communities directly affected by rights violations, the European Commission, the European Ombudsman, civil society organisations, and Members of the European Parliament. This gathering aims to shed light on the gaps in current funding mechanisms and explore concrete solutions for protecting fundamental rights in the 2028-2034 EU funds regulation.
