Date: 26 June 2025
Time: 09:00 – 12:00
Venue: European Parliament, Brussels – Room ASP 3H1

MEPs Jan-Christophe Oetjen, Paulo Do Nascimento Cabral, and Sakis Arnaoutoglou are pleased to invite you to a roundtable event on the potential of civilian drones.

Civilian drones are progressively becoming a feature of everyday life in Europe as their benefits are increasingly recognised in a wide array of use cases, from industrial applications to recreational activities. They are having a transformative impact on how public entities, industry, and hobbyists operate – opening new avenues for innovation and prosperity across the EU.

Agriculture and civil protection are two sectors that truly showcase the transformative potential of drones in driving innovation and competitiveness across the EU. In agriculture, drones are at the forefront of digitalisation, revolutionising precision farming and offering cutting-edge, sustainable solutions. Meanwhile, in civil protection, they have become indispensable—enhancing disaster prevention, aiding first responders, and improving the speed and efficiency of search and rescue missions.

While much progress has been made in shaping a positive and robust regulatory landscape, challenges remain that limit drones from reaching their full potential as drivers of innovation, competitiveness, and sustainable prosperity in Europe.
