Sergi Pitarch, journalist and author of two recent research reports on Colombia and Ecuador, will present cases of communities resisting extractivism and promoting sustainable, fair trade alternatives such as organic panela cooperatives and environmental defence networks.
The event will also feature testimonies from human rights organisations and local leaders.
It will explore the implications for EU trade and human rights policy in the region.
