Online presentation of the Opinion of the European Central Bank on the European Commission's legislative package on securitisation, published on 11 November 2025.

A well-functioning EU securitisation market is an important element of the savings and investments union (SIU) agenda. The ECB considers the Commission's proposals a step in the right direction for the EU securitisation market to play a meaningful role in transferring risks away from credit institutions so that they can lend more to the real economy, creating opportunities for financial market investors as well.

The presentation will cover the main observations and suggestions put forward in the Opinion, including, inter alia, on the simplification of due diligence and disclosure requirements, the concept of resilient positions and the recalibration of capital requirements.
