About the Event
A keynote address will be delivered by European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management, Hadja Lahbib.
The purpose of this event is to promote a clearer, shared understanding of what the humanitarian principles — humanity, neutrality, impartiality and independence — mean in practice, how they are applied on the ground, and why they remain essential for effective humanitarian responses.
The event will feature a moderated panel discussion with MEPs and humanitarian actors, also marking the 60th anniversary of the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The event will provide a space for dialogue and reflection between EU policymakers, humanitarian partners, institutional actors and civil society, helping to build bridges and reinforce cooperation within and beyond the European Parliament.
