📅 Date:
🕧 Time:
12:30–14:30 CET
📍 Location:
Room ANTALL 6Q1, European Parliament

About the Event

This European Parliament conference on chemicals legislation will focus on the need for an efficient, consistent and streamlined EU chemicals legislative framework to bolster the competitiveness of downstream users of chemicals. The event brings together Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), European Commission officials, representatives from the Cypriot Presidency of the Council, NGOs, and industry leaders from across the entire chemicals value chain.

Participants will explore the priorities and challenges faced by downstream users of chemicals, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The discussion will examine how the current EU chemicals legislative framework, particularly REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) and CLP (Classification, Labelling and Packaging) regulation, can be further improved to enhance regulatory clarity and coherence, support effective compliance, and reduce unnecessary administrative burdens, while safeguarding high levels of protection for human health and the environment.
