About the Event

Live piracy threatens much more than revenues. It undermines investment in sport, culture and live entertainment, and exposes consumers to risks such as fraud, malware and data theft. Yet, despite the EU's 2023 Recommendation on combating online piracy of sports and other live events, the European Commission found that overall levels of live-event piracy had not been considerably tackled. The event will look at the challenges faced on the ground and what further action, including possible legislative measures, could be taken at EU level.
