About the Event

Growing media, also known as substrates or potting soil, are materials other than open-ground soil in which our food is grown. They are used in professional horticulture to grow a wide range of vegetables, fruits, salads, mushrooms as well as ornamentals and trees.

The event will explore how the growing media sector supports Europe in reaching objectives regarding healthy diets, resource efficient plant production, food waste reduction and self-sufficiency. It will also offer an opportunity to explore the role of growing media in achieving a circular approach across horticultural value chains, aligned with the upcoming EU Bioeconomy Strategy and Circular Economy Act.

Important: This event is by invitation and only registered participants can be accepted. For capacity reasons, everyone is required to register for the event, even those who already have a European Parliament badge.
