This historic conference brings together Members of the European Parliament from four European political groups – S&D, Renew Europe, Greens/EFA, and The Left – and includes representatives of various political parties from the Spanish State, among them PNV, ERC, Comuns, PSOE, BNG, Compromís, Sumar, Podemos, Izquierda Unida, and EH Bildu.This landmark conference examines the authoritarian legacy of Francoism, the challenges of impunity, and the dangers of historical oblivion in contemporary Spain. As the country marks the 50th anniversary of General Francisco Franco's death, this event brings together leading experts, legal scholars, activists, and survivors to address the ongoing struggles for democratic memory and justice for victims of the dictatorship.The conference features two comprehensive panels exploring the legislative framework of the Spanish State and the active memory movements fighting against historical revisionism.
