More recently, the Commission published its first EU Visa Strategy, which was accompanied by recommendations to Member States on how to attract and retain talent.These developments mark important steps forward in Europe's approach to labour migration and reflect a growing recognition of the need to better attract international talent. However, initiatives in the area of labour mobility and labour migration often remain fragmented.Against this backdrop, this panel will take stock of the current framework, reflect on the implications of recent initiatives, while also looking ahead to possible next steps.
