Through concrete examples, they will highlight the importance of their role in African small-scale fishing sector, their contributions to food security, sustainable development and ocean conservation.

The event will also be an opportunity to discuss how the "new generation" of fisheries agreements can better support women in sustainable small-scale fisheries in Africa.
