Strengthening resilience of EU food supply security
What's the role of European food companies?
Date: Tuesday 23/09/2025
Time: 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM
Location: MEP Salons, Spinelli Building 0-floor, European Parliament
The EU food system is facing growing pressure from various factors, including geopolitical instability. Addressing these challenges requires close cooperation with the food industry to build a competitive, sustainable and resilient agri-food chain.
This breakfast discussion will feature Rolf Ladau, CEO of Paulig, a European food & beverage company headquartered in Finland. Paulig owns several well-known brands across Europe and produces Tex Mex, snacks, coffees, world foods and spices in five EU Member States (Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Belgium, Spain) as well as in the UK.
The debate will focus on how industry leaders and policymakers can work together to enhance food security, support innovation, and ensure the long-term resilience of the European food sector. Jukka Peltola, from the National Emergency Supply Agency, will also contribute by sharing the Finnish experience of broad public-private cooperation.
Please RSVP by 17 September.
This event is organised by Pekka Toveri , MEP (FI/EPP).
