SPEAK up – Giving a Voice to Young Generations for the Prevention of FGM

Occasion: International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)
Event Highlights
The event will feature the END FGM EU Network and provide a platform for 5 Youth Leaders trained during the Y-ACT Project. They will lead discussions titled "Five Pathways to a Future Without FGM", supported by 10 activists from Europe and Africa.
Additionally, 5 young individuals and 5 adults from involved communities will present the Commitment Manifestos to abandon FGM, developed during the project.
About the Y-ACT Project
The Y-ACT (Youth in ACTion for Change) Project is co-funded by the European Union through the CERV program and led by Amref Italia in collaboration with Associazione Le Reseau, CoNNGI, and Bicocca University of Milan. It aims to foster cultural change by empowering young people with migration backgrounds and their communities to address gender-based violence and female genital mutilation.
Closing & Networking
The event will conclude at 6:00 PM, followed by a networking cocktail at the Multifunctional Restaurant (SPINELLI Building).
