Advancing Dual VET for Rural Sustainability: Agriculture in the European ContextAs host and Vice-Chair of the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO), and member of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, I am delighted to invite you to a high-level event focused on "Advancing Dual VET for Rural Sustainability: Agriculture in the European Context." This event is organized in collaboration with Hands Across Romania Association, a member of the European Alliance for Apprenticeships (EAfA) and the Pact for Skills, and will take place in Spinelli 3G3, European Parliament, Brussels on September 30th, 2025 | 12:30-13:45 CET.We are honored to announce the participation of Roxana Minzatu, Vice-President of the European Commission, at the conference that aims to promote dual vocational education and training (VET) as a strategic instrument for rural development and the green transition, with a particular focus on agriculture and sustainable rural economies.The event will:Promote dual VET as a catalyst for economic resilience and sustainable development in rural regions.Showcase successful European models of integrating dual VET into agriculture, eco-tourism, and traditional crafts.Strengthen European partnerships to align education and training with regional development needs.Advance cross-border cooperation and EU-funded initiatives tailored to sustainable skills and employment.Support Romania's commitments under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).Participants:Members of the European Parliament and EU institutions (DG EMPL, DG AGRI, DG EAC, DG REGIO)National and local government representativesVocational education providers and high schools from Romania and other Member StatesRural community leaders, employers, and civil society representativesMembers of the media, youth organizations, and agricultural stakeholdersConfirmation of participationPlease confirm your attendance by September 10, 2025 by accessing the registration form.
