Due to food inflation, food poverty has increased to an unprecedented level. Many local solutions are developed to face these issues, especially by connecting people in need and the agricultural and food production sectors. At European level, the right to food must also become more effective, for instance by allowing adequate funds to food banks, implementing ambitious School Scheme programmes, giving a social dimension to strategic food stocks or adopting more efficient market crisis management measures. This conference brings together associations involved in the ECHOP project, experts and representatives from the European Commission to discuss these topics.ProgrammeRound Table 1Local solutions and challenges faced by food aid providers and the agricultural sectorRound Table 2Challenges in making the right to food effective in European policiesSpeakersFrédéric HALLEZDirectorSocial Grocery Perspectiv'President, CPAS Comines-WarnetonFanny GONZÁLEZDirectorEconomie Solidarité Partagée AssociationMarie JONNARDProject ManagerCIVAM Le SerpoletMarion VILLARProject ManagerActive, Pôle de l'économie solidaireDaniel MARTÍNEZ ALLERWaste Management CoordinatorFundació EspigoladorsNora TORRENT ANGRILLProject Manageres-imperfectÉmilie MANYDirectorSocial Grocery Les CapucinesJean-Marie LE BUANDirectorNational Federation Paniers de la MerMagali RAMELPostdoctoral ResearcherCNRS-Nantes UniversityEsteban ARRIAGACEOEuropean Federation of Food BanksAlmudena GARCÍA SASTREEU Policy OfficerFIAN-EuropeJonas JACCARDAdvocacy OfficerHumundiRuth PASERMANDirectorDG Employment, Social Affairs & InclusionEuropean CommissionOrganised by About the ECHOP ProjectThis conference is organised within the framework of the ECHOP project, a project supported by the European Union's Erasmus+ programme and a partnership between Pour La Solidarité, Active, Pôle de l'économie solidaire, Perspectiv' and CEPS.
