Meeting Europe's Investment Challenge
How EU Programmes Mobilise Private Capital and Strengthen Productivity

The presentation will be given by Ms Francesca Vinci, Economist at the DG International and European Relations, and Mr Daniel Kapp, Deputy Head of the Division at DG International and European Relations.
The strong complementarity between private and well-targeted public investment is key to addressing Europe's substantial investment needs.
To illustrate this, ECB analysis will highlight evidence from two Working Papers on the role of European Structural Investment Funds in fostering growth.
The first paper (available here) shows how these funds stimulate private investment and business R&D at the regional level, while the second (available here) demonstrates their positive impact on firm-level investment and productivity.
