Advancing the Fight Against Skin Cancer : research and EHDS
About the Event
Research, prevention and early diagnosis are key to making progress in the fight against cancer. In this context, the European Health Data Space (EHDS) offers a unique opportunity to advance cancer research and harness the potential of health data for the benefit of patients. At this event, chaired by Dolors Montserrat, Dr Ievgenia Pastushenko, an internationally renowned dermatologist and researcher, will present the SPARK Study, an ambitious European project examining risk factors for skin cancer. The study, which will be conducted over the next 20 years, will compile a broad sample of clinical data, medical images and longitudinal follow-up information, with the aim of improving the prevention and early detection of skin cancer. The event will also provide an opportunity to explore how the EHDS can accelerate biomedical research, foster innovation and contribute to more preventive and personalised healthcare in Europe.
