Regulating Chinese Marketplaces and Protecting European Businesses

On Wednesday, 26 November 2025, Europe could turn a decisive page in its relationship with Chinese e-commerce giants. On that day, as the Paris court delivers its ruling on the suspension of Shein and the European Parliament votes on a historic resolution to strengthen Chinese marketplaces regulation, we invite you to join this crucial debate.

Shein, Temu, AliExpress... These platforms are flooding European markets with low-cost products, flouting social, environmental, and safety regulations. Meanwhile, local businesses are struggling, jobs are disappearing, and consumers are exposed to dangerous goods. Yet Europe has the tools to act: the Digital Services Act (DSA), unanimously adopted in 2022, remains underused.

As France and Europe finally seem to awaken, we must address critical questions:

• Is second-hand the sustainable answer to purchasing power challenges?
• Is Chinese e-commerce a threat to our city centers?
• How can the European textile industry compete with China?
